Empowerment. Activism. Gender Equality.

Fighting for gender justice.

Working to bring awareness and empower gender equality by balancing the economic, political, social, and employment conditions in Ontario.

The Gender Equality Coalition of Ontario (GECO) was founded in 2019 to work to establish communities where all individuals have equal access to every opportunity, unbiased by gender.

Community representation is essential in the collaborative efforts towards gender justice. We believe that gender justice can only be achieved when all intersectional genders are included. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, valuing individuals from all intersectionalities - all genders, cultures, ages, races, orientations, locations, and abilities.

Who We Are

We are a group of engaged humans working together to make change for good. We are passionate about intersectional inclusion and care a whole lot about gender equality and actively seeking opportunities to enhance gender inclusion.

We are committed to being active allies who amplify the voices of equity seeking people who need to be heard. We work to raise consciousness towards a mor equitable society. We build community through conversation, engagement, and events. We create and curate resources to support advocacy. We work towards policy change.

What We Do

Events

Change doesn’t happens in isolation. It happens within the context of a larger community. We engage in, collaborate with, and host a variety of diverse events - from speaking at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in NYC (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024) to hosting conferences on radical feminism to our virtual monthly Speaker Series.

“True resistance begins with people confronting pain…and wanting to do something to change it.”
